Astrologie: Leonis the Lion

This new series will visit in some depth the 12 signs of the zodiac, their meanings and potential.

Leonis, more conventionally known as “Leo”, is typically signified by the image of the Lion. This is the fifth sign of the zodiac, typically representing people born between July 23rd and August 23rd. It is the sign of the King or President. It is a fixed fiery sign and represents one who is proud, generous, trusting, energetic, dominating, or authoritative. It is ruled by the sun. Birthstones of this type are ruby and diamond, and metal is gold. The color for this sign is orange. Its companion signs are Sagittaron (Sagittarius) and Arilon (Aries).

The fully developed Leonisan has a pronounced effect on others, usually making them want to assert themselves, directing their efforts toward strength and bearing when in his presence. The Leonisan’s faith and trust in mankind, his belief that those who work for him are doing their absolute best and will never fail him, come together to cause a generous response from those around him. He shares his courage with those he’s close to, giving them strength as they strive to meet his expectations.

Leonis is the ideal leader for any undertaking – be it business or personal – he understands and appreciates the diversity of those around him. He excels at delegation and directing those around him.

The emotions of Leonis tend to vary widely and his faith in others can result in misplaced affection and bad relationships. Heartbreak and painful marriages are more frequent than not, but his dedication usually makes up for obvious relationship failings.

Often, Leonis can appear depressed and detached. He’ll avoid confrontation when possible, often letting negative feelings build up in hopes that they will go away on their own.

The under-developed Leonisan typically finds it necessary to pursue every aspect of personal ambition, seeking glory, responsibility and power in authority – none of which they have adequate abilities to fulfill or achieve. They will take on an over-inflated sense of self-importance, lording their position over those who they believe to be inferior. This type of Leonisan values those who are needy or dependent to support their sense of lofty power.

Physically, the Leonisan has a very commanding presence, a certain expression, directness of speaking and gracefulness that are easily recognized. Though, as the Leonisan is apt to do in other aspects of life, he does not alter his approach to his own health – he is either fantastically healthy, or perpetually ill.

Some notable Leonisans include: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Henry Ford.
